Hello, boys and girls of Santa Monica High School past and present...THIS IS LIZ HICKEY-McCOY, FORMER PRESIDENT OF THE LATIN CLUB AND FORMER TA TO MISTAH QUINETTE, BACK IN ACTION!

Yes, kids, that's right. I'm not dead, though Iowa City is close as hell to it. I now have my BAs in Classics and Ancient Civilizations, and am off to St. John's college in New Mexico for my Master's. I've been trying like HELL to find Mr. Quinette, CAN ANYBODY HELP ME? I know he left shortly after I graduated (01 baby!), and I need to know he's okay. So if any of you that I used to terrorize as the Latin nazi might be willing to help, my fiance can do some computer tracking, but you guys were the last to see him...though I did visit back in '02 briefly.

Hope all of you Latin lovers have gone far since I last shared a class with you. Be good, study hard, don't let the bastards get you down, SEMPER UBI SUB UBI UBIQUE, and give me the first person singular future active indicative of "amare" before I punch yer puppies!!!!!!! I MISS YOU GUYS!

amabo-- Mr. Quinette quit after the 02/03 year to work on a thesis of some kind (chiasmatic structure in epidicus or something quinetty like that), but word on the street is he's a shark hunter in northern canada. if you want factual whereabouts, try to contact Mr. Blatz at samo-- they were good friends.

And a gold star for the Latinite! Thanks for the info...if anyone needs advice or study guides for future AP or college Latin/Greek/Classics endeavors, please let me know. I've had way too much experience in this, as I did the AP Latin Lit exam, as well as the equivalent of seven more years in my three and a half years as an undergrad, with many more to come in grad school. Canis latrat, dammit! THE FUTURE OF CIRCUS MAXIMUS DEPENDS ON THE MAN!!!!!!!!
Since he's been gone, is there now...dare I say it...money changing in the temple???? *sob*

Hey guys...just talked to Mr. Quinette. He's doing well, and says hi to all of you. He sounds pretty happy. For privacy's sake, I don't think he'd appreciate me letting you know where he settled, but he is no longer in L.A. He is writing some book stuff on the Epidicus. Updates as I get them. I must say, it was nice to talk to him.

mr. quinette

I took Latin with Mr. Quinette in 1984 at Santa Monica High School. I have fond memories of that class. Anyway, I work at a college in the Central Coast of California and just heard that a "Mr. Quinette" taught a Latin class on campus last Spring. How many Latin teachers named Mr. Quinette can there be? Must be him. He isn't teaching this semester and not sure if he'll be back. I googled his name which is how I came upon this site.

Re: mr. quinette

It's him. He's moved down the coastline near Santa Barbara, so that's him.
